It's not what we're talking about. AOSP doesn't have the many added privacy and security features in GrapheneOS. AOSP has quite decent baseline security and passable privacy. It's a fair bit worse at privacy from apps than iOS but has better VPN support, profile support, good privacy from the OS developers, etc.

The whole point is that /e/OS does not preserve the privacy and security of AOSP. It does not provide the current privacy and security patches or standard features.
