In an interesting troll move, someone made a donation to a libertarian think tank using my email (and maybe in my name?).
From the donations I've actually made, it seems safe to guess that I'll get libertarian think tank donation spam for many years.
I don't mind email spam since spam filters kinda sorta handle it (
https://mastodon.social/@danluu/109919302025563292), but I've been careful to avoid giving my real address when I actually make donations since that generates mail spam that follows you around.
