#introduction to skotchygut. My friends call me Joel. I like to cook and share recipes that everyone can enjoy. When the weather attempts to cooperate I do stuff outdoors, usually on things with wheels (motorbikes, pedal bikes, in-line skates). The rest of the time I am hiding indoors and coding on something until I get bored with it. Check my status for my latest projects. I have been obsessed with The Simpsons since the 90s and my sister says my super power is being able to relate *any* prompt to a Simpsons reference. I will try my best to use this power for good but it's not really under my control.

I am a long-time free and open source advocate and am highly prejudiced against closed systems of all varieties. I came here to demonstrate my commitment against corporate-controlled social media. I run my own pleroma instance because I like to know the gory details on our digital infrastructure.

I am originally from the East coast and my extended family remains there. Now I live in Seattle and I love it here. I am single, never married and no kids but I love my many nieces and nephews of all ages.
