If possible set up some misting sprinkle heads on the bed to go on and off enough to keep the soil lighlty moist for about a week. I do not reccomend transplanting carrots. They grow well in well structured loam. Soil too fluffy and not tamped may cause seed to be too deep, too dry or lack soil contact allowing the root to catch and dive.
