Apple is the largest company in the world by market cap, has been the most successful American company in China, and, according to its CEO Tim Cook, ‘the largest corporate taxpayer in America’. It’d be idiotic for any U.S. administration not to care what happens to such a company in a country with which we’re in Cold War-level conflict. Not sure where the surprise here comes from.
