Long form PSA because I messed up and have seen my own words being use to further justify actions that I wholly disagree with and actively detest. I don’t have receipts anymore due to deleting the chats, but if the individual wishes for these conversations to be known and has screenshotted them, I am more than willing to address them.
TL;DR:
I do not think that Imouto knowingly hosted CP, nor do I believe the moderation staff knowingly harbored Nazis.
When imouto was up, I worked with Rae along with a group of 4-5 moderators as a co-admin. Recently I’ve seen my words being used to give credibility to the claim that imouto was deliberately tolerating CP, and Nazis, something that I played into, and will be talking about in the second post.
There were some specific issues with our moderation team that I had harbored issues with, but these were not concerns for specific content moderation, but rather the organization and coordination of the moderation team itself. We had a rough baseline of rules with 4-5 moderators with conflicting views of those rules. There was general friction and I disagreed with some of the decisions that I played a key part in making.
That said, while I had my issues, at no point did I see any moderator allow or ignore obvious CP, nor did I see either the moderators nor Rae defend known Nazi users.
Did some slip through the cracks, as happens with every instance, yet when made aware of these users or content, it was removed. This argument against imouto doesn’t seem grounded in the explicit and obvious, but rather the fuzzy posts that skirt the edges of the rules or could be interpreted as technically allowable by moderation standards, which is in turn used as proof of wrong doing.
Unfortunately, because of how I’ve handled recent and past conversations, I’ve contributed to the credibility to the opposite stance on this, which is entirely my fault.
