“MAPs are no more likely to engage in AMSC than non-MAPs” is such cope. It’d be like saying in the 1950s that gay men were no more likely to engage in illegal sodomy.
MAPs (based on more strict definitions) are estimated to make up at most something like 5% of the population, but roughly 40% of “CSA” cases involve preferential offenders. It’s clear that an individual MAP is more likely to be involved. There ARE more non-MAPs committing sex crimes involving children, but only because there are a hell of a lot of non-MAPs.
