A reason I never participated in other social media was that I would have felt that I was giving away the content I produced for free to someone else, and that my work product somehow becomes branded (e.g. as twitter or facebook content).
With nostr, there is no such someone else, or at least no identifiable single such entity. The content is published, but is no feeling of my having lost ownership.
