It would help if it was generally remembered that a considerable amount of UK housing is terraced. This isn't just 19th or 20th century back to backs but 21st century townhouses. They have little outside space, no available internal space and any change in heating supply would involve replacing the internal infrastructure, 'plumbing' of the house.
