it is more than chilling to place a moral weight on contact debate for a "map friendly" instance, it's deadly dangerous
thirteen year old givenpremise@nnia joins up just looking for any place to belong, not really aware of or having an opinion on contact debate. shortly after joining, they pick up the sense that anti-c is the more popular stance but actual contact debate is discouraged. one of the few things they can see related to the debate is that pro-cs are literally fully hated, it's actually so bad that you're allowed to call them rapists and murderers just like if they were on a *non*friendly instance.
wow! okay, guess givenpremise will stay out of this debate, or maybe even take on the anti-c label to fit it. problem solved forever :3
until they encounter something or someone that makes them seriously consider contact ethics and they begin doubting their contact stance. they're in crisis; they finally found a community that *accepts* them but now they feel the same as before, where they're keeping a secret from a community of people who hate them enough to assume they're a rapist or liken them to a murderer.
perhaps then they remain painfully troubled by contact debate, furiously attempting to protect their ignorance to avoid making it worse. or perhaps they work through their crisis and resolve themselves in a harder anti-c stance that includes the internalized value "yaps *are* just rapists (if they disagree with me)". perhaps they realize they're pro-c and they experience a complete return to the sense of being hated and without a home, and then hopefully they survive that.
and maybe they don't
