I'm envious of people with clear ambition and an idea of their future.

I hate being asked where I want my career to go because I don't know or really care. Like, I just want to exist and not think about the future. I don't care about growing intentionally.

Do I want to be a director/ciso? Maybe. Do I want to continue working in security? Maybe. Do I want to do something else in security? Maybe. Do I want to stay where I am? Maybe.

I just don't have any strong feelings one way or the other and it makes me feel alone since everyone seems so focused on growth, promotions, and goals.

And it isn't really an age thing. I'm almost 40. I should have a plan, but I just can't quite figure it out.
