I 100% refuse the idea of it being piracy if it's something that isn't being sold anymore. If they're not producing the system or selling the games anywhere anymore they can fuck off. And if there's enough people "pirating" these abandoned games that they think it's hurting their business then it's their fault for being too retarded to just sell the fucking games. I guarantee you the vast majority of people who want to play gba pokemon would rather spend the money on buying it officially rather than emulate it no matter how easy emulation is. Hell, even most of the enthusiasts who get autistic with emulation end up buying the barebones or shitty rereleases of these old games that are in everyway worse than just emulating on a phone. I think Sony and Nintendo have both said that they don't care about old games because they want people to play the new thing. It's bullshit because obviously there's a market for old games when emulation exists and when most people who bought a new xbox or steam deck did it to play old games.
