For many it's a struggle to choose a social network site, because they require the place to have all the people they know or like.
I left Facebook many years ago. I quit WhatsApp. I definitely do not want all the people I know to be that close. Even if I share a lot I enjoy keeping some of the thoughts to myself, I also enjoy not to know everything.
In real life I'm a hermit-kind-of-character, I enjoy being alone and left alone. Online I can talk to people, but only when I choose to. This is why I just don't understand the concept of "everyone should be in the same place". The Internet doesn't work that way. We are scattered by design.
When I started my journey online in the 1996 or something when I was just a boy, I learned there are not a lot of people on the Internet, but it was still enough to make it seamless. It's obviously different in the world we live today, but the point is: We can't, won't and shouldn't reach every single one of the people online. This is why I find it easier to build websites, login to many platforms, try out new things, because a) I don't have "THE people" I require, b) I accept the nature of things online, we are all over the place.
Times and people change, it's a fact we all know.
