What are your needs in a laptop?
If I was buying new, I'd get a framework laptop because I like their focus on being repairable, upgradable, and freedom.
If none of that matters and you want, "It just works", I think it's hard to beat Apple laptops.
I currently use a desktop, but also have access/use of a Lenovo X1 Extreme and Dell Inspiron 16 plus. I think older used laptops are kinda the middle ground.
