They both serve similar, albeit different purposes. One seeks to upgrade podcast experiences (and uncensorability via the podcast index) while the other is a decentralized comms protocol that almost anything can be built on. We realistically need them both to succeed.
I’ve been a podcasting 2.0 and V4V proponent and participant from the beginning and I also love nostr. They can integrate well, but I know many of the main devs on either don’t necessarily see it that way
