I’m all for questioning everything, but this whole tartaria thing is aggravating. People just need to live in an old city for awhile. Cities are layers of inhabitation over centuries, are organic and people have been and continue to be ingenious builders. It so happens that the ingenuity lives on in pockets of deep expertise and craftsmanship. Yes, the medieval guilds were incredible builders who kept their methods carefully guarded, but we understand how this happens and how these things were built and can be built again, it’s just crazy expensive to do it in the time frames that modern development demands.
