With extreme rhetoric against war, women’s rights, free speech, government size, and the income tax and rhetoric for bitcoin, revamping tariffs, executive power, there’s no escaping that Trump has quickly become the change candidate to a country that is deeply unhappy with its direction.
Voters will not feel like they’re voting for the old vague Trump chaos but for an explicit plan for a new country.
I don’t know if this was a deliberate strategy or grasping at straws and attention, but it was probably the correct political move. Even if people don’t want the change he is promising, they’ll vote for it *just because it is change*.
Harris could *easily* have taken mildly pro bitcoin, anti war positions and cut into the contrast, thereby not making this a “change election” and she would’ve held more of her early lead as a result. Instead she was cheering on the Cheneys and Biden’s presidency, feeding that contrast, and also wasting time campaigning in Texas.
I am not making a prediction on who will win, but it will be hard for Harris to pull this one off.
