Maybe they're invisible in the regular timeline view with some indication that there _are_ tags to look at, and when you click it to focus that post, they expand. Maybe there's a button to expand the tags present whether the post is focused or in a timeline. Just some ideas.

I can understand why some might want them hidden, because they _can_ be quite noisy, but I don't think they should just go away entirely. They need to be available somehow somewhere, and if that's behind an extra click or two, sure
