My first thought was what a terrible thing it is for a child to have to do. And then I remembered (because I've served on a couple of juries) what a courtroom is like.
A little girl telling the courtroom how the adult man who is supposed to care for her harmed her instead, how small and ugly he must have looked, and how dignified she appeared in everyone's eyes.
