completely agree, tbh for a long time i didn't bother with nostr because i was afraid it was just more of "bitcoin twitter"
it's not actually that bad !
though i do understand the concern that that group could become entirely dominant over time
there's a bit of "bubble-forming potential" already due to relays, everyone has only a partial view of the world, and i think communities and forums are a great idea, something else than the main timeline
searching for hashtags also works pretty ok i've found, whatever you do avoid "trending views" and such, but that's no different on twitter 😱
how to get more niches here is a good question, they tend to form over time if there's enough people with shared interests, and people feel they can freely talk about their interest (and also get some engagement, it shouldn't feel like screaming into a void that might angrily scream back 😀 )
