I just had one of the most important counseling sessions since I started therapy earlier this year. I came to realize that my relationship with my narcissist mom is not and has never been normal, and neither was almost anything about my childhood. I had to be the adult in the room as long as I could remember, and be her parent. I'm 46 years old and she's 65. I don't have to do that anymore and I can't. It's not healthy. It's time to set some boundaries! 😁
