Calinic of Cernica, before becoming a monk, was a shepherd. One day, he found a gold coin and decided to build a church with it, but his parents convinced him to keep the money. Later, he fell ill and dreamt that only by fulfilling his initial intention would he be healed. Upon recovering, he used the coin to start building a small chapel, marking the beginning of his devoted life to God. Pray that Bishop Calinic's devotion inspires us to fulfill our promises to God and to remain steadfast in our faith.
