Having used both, fedi is more difficult to have an independent presence on.
Most people are simply not going to rent a VPS and host an instance. They just aren't. Simple as that. It's easy if you're tech savvy but if you can't walk your parents through how do it on an app, it isn't going to lead to mass adoption.
Hence, the vast majority of users in fedi use someone else's instance.
On Nostr you download an app and hit "make a key" and... that's it. That's the most frictionless onboarding of any platform ever. You don't even need an email.
And you still get the same flexibility and freedom you would if you ran an instance on fedi. Unless literally every single major relay operator conspired with each other to block you despite them having different views and disliking censorship - much less likely than the admin of the instance you happen to use banning you.
It's telling there's a no Nostr equivalent to Fediblock isn't it?
