When I started working in kitchens as a teenager I was taken aback they actually listened to the stuff unironically, like no matter what. It sort of perplexed me, like I thought "don't you feel like you're stereotyping yourself?" but no that's not how they feel at all. They genuinely like it. Somehow. I guess it's their equivalent of country music, which I can accept, but from my perspective it just sounds like trash and I want to never hear it again lol. Sometimes they play more modern-sounding Latin music with hip hop influences and autotune, but it's only marginally better in my view.
