Smoke particles are not the same at all, which is why you can still smell someone farting in a KN95 and escape a burning building too, in a mask. I wish people woiuld stop conflating things. I get that smoking is bad for health but it's not the same as an airborne virus, the smell of a fart or a burning building, each of which would require a different respiritory barrier.
