Have you ever farmed before? It's likely one of the most difficult profession around.
I have 30 acres of farm land that is leased out to a local farmer who pays 6K a year for the lease. This doesn't even cover the property taxes. For me to farm the land it would take a minimum investment of a millions dollars or so in equipment and it would still be operating at a loss.
We had a solar panel offer for 60K a year for a twenty year lease. We haven't taken the offer. But that is pretty hard to walk anyway from.
Maybe we should just sell to BlackRock or Bill Gates. Bottom line farmers are screwed to death by the government and taxes.
