I think the people of the US need to come to terms with the fact that we live in a "failed state." The entire state of Oregon, along with large sections of Washington and Idaho are currently ablaze, and we can't even pay firefighters enough to keep them around.

My current political stance is that ALL POLITICIANS at national level (and probably state and local levels too) need to be replaced, via sortition. Draw names out of a hat - we certainly couldn't do any worse.
