“Venezuela commemorates, with a deep sense of unity and sovereignty, the 59th anniversary of the signing of the 'Agreement to Settle the Dispute between Venezuela and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the Boundary between Venezuela and British Guiana', signed on February 17, 1966 and known as the Geneva Agreement. (...) Guyana is obliged to sit down to negotiate immediately, without further delay. The historical rights of Venezuela and its ownership of the Essequiba Guiana are irrefutable and unrenounceable. The Geneva Agreement is the only established and agreed way between the parties to resolve this territorial dispute”.
