Also it’s open source and there’s not a big company at the center of Mastodon. If you really care, and it’s actually important, you can setup and do your own work. Lots of people have made ActivityPub servers and services, but Mastodon gets more of it right than the others. Eugen’s power comes from the work he’s done and continues to do. It’s easy to critique him because he’s visible and accessible.
