It was 7 miles from where LOVE was to play, and original lead guitarist Johnny Echols & Georgiana Steele-Waller his gal pal were meeting me there for dinner. While I was waiting for them to arrive, I discovered that Bill Clinton had dropped by the day b4 with his SS guys. Bill was sick, so he didn't eat, but all the SS guys ate. The manager already had a picture with Bill Clinton hung on the wall in the back room where we ate. Don't know that I ever told you, but I met Hillary when she was in College Station stumping for Bill in 1990, when I was Dem County Chairman. She spoke, then was shaking hands around, and when I shook her hand, I said, "maybe you should be running for president." She smiled saying "we already have a good candidate." How about that?
