Heads up #Providers on #MedMastodon,
My nurse was just duped by an individual with a heavy eastern European accent calling, claiming to be DEA & having a complaint filed against my DEA#, providing her with my NPI and his "badge" number as proof.
1. The badge number was like, 9. Lol. Not exactly, but not even realistic
2. DEA have notified everyone of this scam: https://www.dea.gov/scam-alert
3. Never ever respond to these phone calls. Let an official letter be served to you or your attorney.
