Q. is the solution to the UK energy network constraints, zonal pricing?
Zonal pricing (ZP) reduces energy costs for those near energy sources (say, wind farms), with the intent of reducing the need to halt generation due to a lack of network capacity.
With ZP, energy hungry firms could locate to take advantage of lower ZP & planning objections might be lessened for new generation sites by the ZP advantage?
Looks good in theory but the key would be the ability to relocate...
