honestly now that I think about it how will we fix the nostr funding problem?
opensats is a stopgap that won't work long term
VCs make you trade too much autonomy and put money above protocol health
v4v and donations have broken incentives
bounties don't work for the same reason
few people pay for features to be sustainable
people don't want ads or client cuts
how will you incentivize people with $75k+/yr salaries with actual talent to work on nostr?
if it continues like this nostr clients will take the following path
- take losses intentionally to attract users
- start locking them in and monetizing them
- start cutting them off from the rest of nostr and preventing them from leaving
- continue enshittification as usual
