At current rate of user acquisition, the server will be sustainable for a couple years. In year one, I had 44 subscribed users utilizing around 1-2% of allocated resources and <1% of traffic, with an operating loss of around 45%. Of course, I am holding the bitcoin, so that may turn around in time. This year my costs increased by 15% with my vendors; however, bitcoin buying power increased in value by 175%. Assuming I want to keep utilization below 60-70%, I will need to add an additional server when I reach 1,250 - 1,500 users. Sometime between now and the 2nd relay, I will switch from nostream to strfry to create an interconnected set of paid relays.

TL;DR: Lifetime memberships are sustainable if the cost / user is sufficiently low with respect to operating costs and the membership fee is denominated in bitcoin which (on average) will gain in buying power over time.

Thank you for your question!
