I've been hacking a npub17n98rzf2z32qhjdvwn8r5033dlvyqr6n8ctjhggq5332tt74q05sqc0sas (npub17n9…0sas) DSi XL I had laying around for my children to play on. It was a US model and I wanted to switch it to EUR so I could change the language but also retain the default functionality and run stuff off of an SD card. Turns out it's possible!
1. Install unlaunch
2. Dump the firmware
3. Move the firmware to the SD w/ HiyaCFW-Helper
4. Patch the SD with hiyalang
5. Install TWiLight Menu++ to launch games w/ nds-bootstrap
6. Boot into the DSi menu by default
