Yeah, it's easy to have the thought "maybe instead of regular war we'll just have machines fight machines" but I don't think it works out that way in practice. Lots of signs that "abstracting" warfare by having people indirectly act through robots just makes those people more comfortable killing. At some point those drone-to-drone fights get collateral damage. Or switch to attacking occupied structures but the operator is still using the same XBox controller. Or there's no operator
