Around a quarter of UK employees are subject to post-contract non-compete clauses which constrain their ability to switch jobs & take advantage of demand for their skills/experience.
#workers in sectors who use non-compete clauses tend to have lower wages as their ability to move work is made more difficult.
While not indentured labour, such clauses clearly stifle workers ability to manage their own careers at the expense of a (a largely unproven) 'protection' of employers' interests.
