Seemed OK but I missed a lot of context/back-story. As someone else mentioned in the thread, there is a lot of what feels like a knowing side-eye, wink-wink going on as part of the inner monologue. I'll try tracking down the first one to see if it gels but I don't feel compelled to do that before working through other books in my 'to-read' pile.
