I had a similar experience growing up in the 90s and early 00s in Eastern Europe.
I behave similarly. My wife had a similar upbringing and only I am the one with autism most probably. :)
We are in agreement that is how we raise our kids too.
Using everything until it is financially a better decision to buy a new one compared to repair+time+reliability risk associated costs of the old. Buying only stuff we will use a LOT.
