I bought 1.6M XRP for $10k when it was "Ripple." Soon afterward, they went full banker and started hiring execs and compliance personnel from the US Treasury etc. They declared that all holders were required to transfer all XRP to a new KYC wallet. There was also concern about Jed getting a settlement for huge slice of the total supply (30% IIRC) and his lockup soon becoming available for sale in a phased plan.
I was like fuck this project, this is not what crypto is about. Everyone knows you never go full banker.
Sold everything for $9k, a 10% loss.
A couple years later was the next bull run and XRP peaked around $4.
