Also: I pulled out of one of my three show booked for this Summer season.
The reason? It's a Pride showcase and I (a trans woman) would have been the only non-drag act. It doesn't exactly send out a very good message to the trans kids out there does it?
Prides are largely drag pageants now anyway. I guess it's what the fairweather allies and straights like, and the (mostly cis gay male) organising committees are ridiculously tone-deaf about it all.
