Andy Weir mentioned in an interview to never tell anyone the story. People must only be able to get it by reading, and they can only read when you're finished, and so you stay motivated to get that done. (You'd still revise based on feedback, but now there's a v1.0). I have yet to try it but it resonated strongly with past experiences
One should probably weigh this against discovering nobody likes the premise after you're all done
