FYI, I've used and (mostly) loved the Markdown editor on the Peakd interface to the Hive blockchain (originally Steemit dot com, but the bulk of the community forked to Hive dot blog).
I've created and maintained a hierarchical library of my writing there for years. One of my favorite Peakd features is the ability to intermittently work on drafts before actually posting. Markdown support is the best I've personally experienced. The editor has a WYSIWYG mode, but I haven't used it...
I THINK sources for that editor should be available? It's been very robust for years, and it seems to me it shouldn't be too difficult to add parsing for npubs, notes, and etc...🤔
