I was wearing random cheap boots from the JC Penney catalog in 1988 or so, and the other guy was wearing 14eye docs (o blood with barred laces because turns out he was kind of a racist asshole).
He handily beat me.
I’ve always been slow. But his docs were way less clunky than my generic boots..
So… it is all relative. And in the end, they’re not bad.
