Thought experiment: From a purely mathematical standpoint, would you measure something that is fixed and unchanging with something that is infinite? Or would you measure something that is infinite with something that is fixed?

Example, would you measure the distance of a long jumpers jump with meters (fixed and unchanged) or determine what a meter is based on a long jumpers jumping distance, and constantly adjust based on humanity getting better at jumping further distances?

This is the reversal, we measure all progress with a metric that is ever expanding, When we measure bitcoin with fiat (the fiat price of bitcoin) its the equivalent of using the jump distance to determine what a meter is.
