❤️🖤💛Aboriginal Story from Noongar Land: Long ago, the Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo (Kaarak) was a plain bird until the spirits of the land sent it to call the rain. 🌧️ It’s deep cries echoed across the sky, bringing much-needed water to the thirsty earth. 🌳In gratitude, the Marri trees blossomed and bore honkey nuts, which the Kaarak cracked open, staining its feathers with the tree’s red sap. 🎁As a gift for its help, the spirits gave the Kaarak its striking red tail, marking it as a messenger of seasonal change. 🚨To this day, it’s call (sound on!) signals the coming rains and the ripening of the Marri’s fruit, reminding all of the deep connection between bird, land, and sky. #Forestr #nostr
