I've also watched marriage breakdowns emotionally cripple people.
And I have seen many people get married to utterly unsuitable people just because they didn't want to be alone or thought they didn't deserve any better.
While I know people who marriage works for, they also have to put in the effort, make compromises and be forgiving.
