I was thinking about DSP stuff in another thread and it just hit me that... an EQ can be expressed as a FIR filter, and a reverb impulse response is the same thing, and you can go back from the IR to its frequency response.
That means a reverb filter and an EQ filter are actually the same thing. A reverb is just a really complicated EQ. 🤯
(I know some/many EQ filters are IIR, but they can always be approximated well enough as a FIR with enough taps)
