Yup. I walked away from Plex when they needed always online server/clients and require the browser DRM module loaded even if you weren't using the Plex served media. They may have changed that, but as a product I didn't like that they were willing to go that far to take rights away from user's. I know they got hit by the government so I do feel for them, but it's just not a product for me.
i'd rather go back to network shares and VLC
