Regarding going into the water when you don't need to (to play, mess around, etc). It's not just "dirty" ... it's contaminated with everything that's been on the ground there or uphill. Human sewage, animal feces, fertilizer, pesticides, oil, and whatever other chemical crud that's been released or washed down to you by the floods.
